About CACAP

The premier institution for resolving construction and infrastructure disputes in the Asia Pacific region.

Our Role

About the Centre

The Construction Arbitration Centre (Asia Pacific) (CACAP) serves as an appointing authority and nomination service provider for construction and infrastructure disputes in the Asia Pacific region. Established to meet the demand for specialised dispute resolution expertise, CACAP facilitates the appointment of qualified neutrals for arbitration, mediation, expert determination, dispute boards, and related dispute resolution processes.

The Centre maintains a panel of arbitrators, mediators, expert determiners, adjudicators, and industry professionals with relevant qualifications and experience in construction and infrastructure matters. CACAP provides nomination services in accordance with its appointment procedures, ensuring the selection of independent and impartial neutrals who possess the requisite expertise for each dispute.

The Centre’s primary role is the nomination and appointment of dispute resolvers. The Centre also conducts professional training courses and confers accreditation upon practitioners who demonstrate exemplary competence. CACAP does not administer arbitrations, conduct case management, provide hearing facilities, or otherwise participate in the conduct or substance of dispute resolution proceedings. Once a neutral is appointed, the dispute resolution process proceeds independently under the appointed neutral’s direction or in accordance with the applicable rules agreed by the parties.
